I lived for 5 years were GDaddy was living in Sebastian and I'm afraid there is a Space Coast RV Park up there in Rockledge. Of course the whole State should be called Space State being that they ( State of Florida ) have the biggest Ponsi scheme in history going. Puts Bernie to shame.

Dr. Gannon,

Very gracious of you to nake the $99 upgrade available for those whose circumstances make it desirable.

For myself, I think paying $40 additional for a plug and play solution is a no brainer. Many times I would have gladly paid somebody $40 to come and install software for me. If I put a dollar value on my time and consider the 2 hours of install time for DVDs, or the 24 hours of download time, I would gladly spend $40 to get those hours back. I'm at an age where time has become far more precious than money. You can always get more money, but once time is spent, its gone forever.

Yes, I have to say that this is a great way to run a company. Just one complaint and not really a complaint but a suggestion. (I did buy the upgrade w/d and received it today)

My suggestion. I would have really rather been able to purchase the upgrade in Jan or Feb, after Christmas. The Christmas deal is a deal but for some of us this program comes after we have purchased the gifts for the rest of the family. I really felt a little guilty when the package came today knowing I had spent that $154 (s/h) on myself and hadn't gotten Christmas for anyone else yet. Just a thought.
A lot of starving musicians are actually starving and it would be nice to offer great prices on the upgrades all year long so folks could obtain it when they could best afford it.

And yes, I am flipping out playing with my new toy!! I may actually like some of these real tracks

I got the 2010 Everything and am downloading it now. Drive shows in a few days.
I'm real curious to see how this runs off of a USB disk.

The real tracks stuff is phenominal. I have been saving audio and midi to separate tracks, then importing into Cakewalk where I edit, sing etc. (Lots of years on Cake.)

Now I find out BB can run as a Plug-In? I'm there.
Good move, Pete.

I knew the update was coming.
Waited until the feature list was too compelling to pass up.

Today is that day.

Bad news. We're not there at all.

Despite the name, it's not a plug-in, and whatever they call it, it doesn't work very usefully.

You can now drag tracks into Sonar (or into an Explorer window) from BiaB, but if you bring more than one into your sequencer, they arrive all on the same track, in their own separate new project. That is less useful and convenient than a MIDI file saved in the old way -- unless you want one (and only one) new BiaB track put into your Cakewalk project.

It's been implied somewhere, by somebody, that improvements can be hoped for. Maybe they even mean to make it into a plug-in.

I should have pointed out that you can drag several separate BiaB tracks into a Sonar project, as long as you provide new blank MIDI tracks for them to live in. But if you do it that way, you lose all instrument assignments and all other track settings.

This is an issue for me too. Many years in the past I lost the upgrade price and ended up paying full price because there simply wasn't any discretionary cash in December and January. Last two years I took the mid-year upgrade since it falls at a time when I have more cash available.

I'm sure this is a marketing matter but PG Music has impressed me in the past as being a lot more interested in doing things that are right and doing things to help out their users then just the best marketing move. I'm sure that they could do a lot of things to maximize their profit a little more than they have. I hope that if the powers that be are watching this thread they might pick up on this aspect of their pricing programs. Over all, I'm not disappointed in the product and the price is certainly fair and reasonable especially at Christmas time for the new upgrades. But as I have said, I wonder how many of us are getting the programs for ourselves as our own big Christmas present. Having to buy it at Christmas has meant I have skipped several updates through the years an waited two or three years between upgrades. Fortuntaly this year I could afford it right away and I did want to get the additional real tracks. I still feel a little guilty though as I still haven't got Christmas for anyone else. Will be doing it this coming week (to get over the guilt!)
