The other day I was flicking through radio stations and I heard the last minute or so of a song I hadn't heard for ages. I would really like to hear it in its entirety, but I can't remember the song title or the artist.

It's from the 80s or 90s (wow.. that really narrows it down smile )

It's about a guy who is wrongly accused of killing his girlfriend.
The words of the last chorus are something like:

"I swear I left her by the river,
I swear I left her safe and sound,
I need to go back to the river,
and leave this old Nebraska town."


Does that ring a bell with anyone?
