Deryk - PG Music PG Music Staff Joined: Feb 2017 Posts: 3,414	I use a Windows computer at work, and a Mac computer at home. Personally, I think Windows 10 is a wonderful operating system. In terms of switching to Mac - you could, but not much would be different. You'd actually end up spending more, since Macs are generally more expensive and also far more difficult to repair should something go wrong. The only real way to avoid the complaints you have would be to switch to Linux. However, I suspect if enough people go to Linux they will end up acting the same way. If the apps you use or a close enough equivalent is available in Linux, it's an option. lambada Expert L Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,574 Hong Kong	Agree Deryk. My 13-year-old daughter's 9-month old Apple Mac Pro just died (Required for school). 3 times the price of a PC laptop! It's a week to get a booking at the store then they may 'fix' it rather than replace. I tried to get the address of the store on-line, not simple, yesterday my phone call went from Hong Kong to the Philippines for support. Both wanted me to start up the damn thing. I don't even know where the on / off switch is. (I've been with Microsoft since DOS and I love Windows 1o.) I share my home with Apple freaks who have iPads, iPhones, Macs and Mac Pro's. The girls have no idea what a PC is. Maybe one day I'll get a hand me down iPhone as Android's are musically Neanderthal. Last edited by lambada; 08/14/18 04:09 PM. I don't by cheap computers, my 2002 Think Pad still bounces around on stage with me, along with a Win7 ThinkPad. The Win7 machine replaced another 2002 Think Pad. I could get by on one, and both computers are setup to do both tasks. In the unlikely event that both die, I could zoom over to any store that has computers and buy a PC because I also have everything I need on a flash drive. I couldn't do that with a Mac. Apple and Lenovo both make fine computers, but sooner or later one will fail. Getting the PC either replaced or serviced is much easier, quicker, and less expensive. I'm not a fanboy of either OS, but look to my personal needs.
