Musicians just seem to have a real problem with making money. If you're srounging along the bottom of the barrel, you're starving for your art why that's ok but making too much is greed? Why is this greed?

You have one of the most legendary groups there ever was and the founder dies. So that means the whole huge thing that's been built up for 40 years had to die too? Musicians like to play, even in somebody's living room. Daryl's House anyone? And they really love to perform in public. Many of us have posted about that for years. Music is good for the soul, it's not a solitary pursuit, it's a performance art, etc etc.

So what are the rest of they guys supposed to do, just give it up? Does that make any kind of sense? Sure, immediately after Frey's death they're in shock, in mourning and say things like it's over, it can't ever be the same again, we're done. Then a year later, they're looking at each other and go, we can't just give it all up, he wouldn't want us to, etc.

Yes money is part of it but so what? They want to play man, that's their whole life, it's all they've ever done. Most people in any field when they retire don't want to just suddenly stop working either.
