as subject says https://www.tracktion.com/products/t7-daw?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2018-08-11 and it comes for Crapple, Win, and Linux and in two flavors 64 and 32 bit (except Linux which is just 64) At one time T5 was free, then T6 was free, now T7 and if you have one of the older free ones and an account for that free one - for a short time you can get Waveform 9 at upgrade pricing $59 Larry

It seems to be a limited time-dated version or demo although that is not obvious until downloaded and installed. Bummer!

That must be a new tactic for them. Every time they have offered a free version in the past it has been completely free. I haven’t had a chance to give it a go. I’ll try and report back maybe sometime this week

Here's what email says:
"Yep, T7 is now free to all customers! Be sure to grab your free license today. Great for solo artists or your entire band. T7 offers many workflow improvements over older versions, so be sure to download and start exploring. "
So I downloaded and installed (and yes registered) and it's working fine - no limits???? I'm not a big Tracktion user, actually I don't use it much at all, except to muck around with it, but still free is free
However, at bottom of email it does say:
"Limited time offer ends soon. Then T7 becomes minimum version for upgrade pricing. “"
I take that to mean just what it says: you can use it to get BASIC Waveform 9 for $59 (that’s the upgrade price from previous BASIC Waveform) but ONLY for a limited time. So the free T7 is considered the MINIMUM PREVIOUS package for upgrade pricing considerations.
