I posted this over on the Xtra Styles 5 contest forum, but posted it here just in case it makes you laugh. https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs2/house-partySo, I ran the midi from that style through various "retro" synths, emulating classic synths of the 80s era like the Yamaha DX-7 and Prophet 5, along with bass synths. I am playing the guitar. Intentionally, I did not push the volume on this but strove for an 80s mix. A tad more mixing info on the other posting. Cool song, David! Definitely 1980s. Cool and interesting. Love the backing tracks and the chord progression is really cool, too. This genre really makes your voice shine - it fits perfectly. I think you hit all the high spot just perfectly. "House party will get you some jail time" - free food, free accomodations, clean clothes every day or two, a chance to learn the ins and outs of the justice system. How can you wrong??? I'm gonna be hurt if I don't get an invite  Loved it, David. One of your very best. Your vical sets in the mix exceptionally well. Definitely on of my top favorites of yours from all these years. What I like about so many of your songs is don't just give a s great song.Hidden in theat great song you hide so many clues to mixing, producing and aeeangemets.You are a master of do those things by doing them so well and hiding them so well . There's no doubt about it, you boldly tread those paths of music-making that only the fearless few can walk. I'm not quite sure what to say, my brain is still trying to wrap itself around where it's just been. As I've said a number of times before, your creativity is truly astounding!

Man, are you kidding me!! If I heard this on the radio I would have guessed it was a previously unreleased Talking Heads track. You totally nailed the vibe of their music! Very, very good indeed, loved everything about this track. You continue to boldly go where no BIAB user has gone before!

David, you are one creative dude! I like how you expand the horizons and try all kinds of interesting stuff! I have to admit, I 'checked out' of pop music in the 80's, so if there's a reference there, I don't have it--but that means that I can listen without influences, and I hear in this: a great deal of skill, a lot of fun elements, expert marrying of the style and RT's to your musical concept--and something completely different and attention-grabbing for me! Something like this pushes me out of my own comfort zone and begs me to try something totally new..thanks for the inspiration!
