floyd, you are a genius!

No, I don't use realband.

The acid idea worked but I had to do it in a couple of stages because the actual reaper project tempo has to be 86 (for the 6/8 midi file).

So I rendered my 12/8 BIAB file at 57 BPM with ACID enabled, then loaded it into Reaper with it's bpm set also at 57.

Then changed the tempo in reaper to be 57.333 and rendered that out (now the file has no acid info). Then when I add that 12/8 BIAB file at 57.333 BPM into my project which is set for 86 BPM it lines up perfectly with the 6/8 piano part.

Kind of convoluted, but at least now I can use a much better bass part for the song than that acoustic country waltz bass part :P

Thanks!

EDIT: Actually an easier way that doesn't involve rendering the BIAB file at 57.333 is to go the other way. Leave the BIAB file at 57 BPM but change the project file to be 85.5. (57 * 3/2). Just tried it, works great.
