Hi, can I change the colours of the part markers to other than the blue and green? If so, how do I do it? I have BIAB 2018 all up to date. Cheers

Yes,
Display options, Select Substyle A (or B etc) from the drop-down list, and choose the required color.

Hi, Sorry I did not explain myself correctly.

I am usin BIAB 2018, all up to date, and I am using it LIVE with a 4 piece Band. I want to be able to have 4 diffirent coloured part markers, alloted to people, using the G for Guitar, s for sax etc numbers that are available for the part markers. I know how to change the colours of the part markers, but cant make any new ones. (another two) I have tried to understand the multistyle information but it just freaks me out. Can you help?? Cheers

OK, that's a different thing altogether. You cannot change individual part marker colors of the same Substyle, but you can assign a different letter or number e.g. G for Guitar, B for Bass, P for Piano, like this:

soulagent:

Since the inclusion of "text at any bar" was added to the program, I have made use of it for a number of different "notations" in songs.

Chord Display > Layers > Bar Lyrics

Sometimes it's something as easy as noting things like: Intro, Verse 1, Chorus 1, Instrumental, etc. Sometimes something more sinister like "Start of PSG RT".

Couldn't you use this function to simply notate "Guitar", "Sax" etc. at the appropriate bar, rather than use a different color part marker or (as VideoTrack suggested), a different letter?

Just a thought.

And I agree about the multistyles. There's got to be a way to make it easier to understand what is required when you right click on a part marker.

Hi Soulagent,

If you just want more part marker colors but don't necessarily need them to be marked with any special numbers or text, you can right-click on a part marker, select Define C/D, and choose the same style you've already been using.

You'll now have C and D part markers available (yellow and pink), which will play just like the existing A and B part markers.

Alternately, you can use that same method and select a second style to act as the C and D parts for that song.

I hope this helps!

Thanks
Kent
