This is the second time this happens for me. I make karaoke all the time, and it works usually great. But the other day, and now today, I added lyric in a Christmas song, and there is no lyric in the midi file I export. I tried 2 different Karaoke program, but no lyric. I also opened the BiaB song in Real Band, but no lyric also in the saved Biab Song, MGU...
Any Idea what can be wrong anyone? I have tried to close BiaB, and open it again and loaded the song again, to no avail...

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that.. Its note based lyric.. and I just finish adding lyric to another song, and same happen again... It's Christmas songs from a folder I found online some years back. Mostly MGU files... Does that matters?

Now I tried 3 things; Reinstalled BiaB, same. Tried to export as .Kar and got this message; Error during type 0 conversion, unable to run E:/bb/MIDICONV.EXE
I checked E,/BB for that fie, but it is not there.
Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall to solve this problem?
I never had this problem before..

And then I tried now also to open a .kar file and export as .mid, and that worked...

And then now I tried to just make a new song and add some lyrics and that also worked,, Just also tried again to take in the one that did not worked, to test it again, but still, no lyrics... Hm, what can this be....

1. Are you sure they are note based lyrics? You indicated these were older files, and many of the very old files obtainable from the web used line based (not bar based, because it hadn't been introduced yet).
2. In MIDI file options, again since these may be old files, make sure the lyric option is set to "GM format", not the old "PGMusic format". See the details at about page 215 of the BIAB user manual.
May not help, but only takes a moment to check.

Just a thought , As you say the original problem file came from an outside source, It is possible that the were read only flagged by the originator or the way they were imported. This is why you lyrics don’t seem to save even to the mgu file that you are working on . Check the originals in windows explorer file properties and change the attribute.
Thank's guys.. Yes, jford, I am the one typing in the lyrics.. Mike; U made me go to the folder and check the files there.. Then I discovered that those songs that I have tried so far had another filetype attribution, like MG8, MG9 MGM, SG1, MGC... So I tried one with the MGU extension and that one worked.. Never seen those other filetypes before and took it just for granted they were MGU files. What are those other filetypes, and how do I convert it to MGU files? Thank's again for stepping in here...

Thanks for the suggestion Mike, but it did not helped...
And now I tried from another folder I have, with all files being MGU, but same happened there... Perhaps I should upload that folder to my dropbox, so that PG-Music staff can try it for them self, to see if it just my BiaB that does not work properly... In the meantime I will try to convert them all to Midi, and then try those midi-files, to see if the same happens...
Will report back about that...

The MG1, MG2, etc., extensions are from very much earlier versions of BIAB. It sounds like you've been using files created and shared by someone else from a long, long time ago. The numerals related to BIAB's handful of inbuilt, preset styles (these begin with ZZ in stylepicker).
These days, BIAB saves files as MGU. If, however, you loaded in a file that have an MG1 extension then it would be saved with that extension so as to not double-up on song files. This seems to be what created your issue.
When I tried the midi files I converted, it worked... So that will be a work around for me..

I see many of my songs will be saved as MGX.. Don't know why...

MGX is just the file extension to indicate that your Melody track is multi-channel MIDI. If you import in a multi-channel MIDI to the melody track, it will always save as an MGX file.
