I have a 32 bar 3/4 meter song repeating 3x, pop 3_4 Country_Sty, Real Track 975-Guitar Electric Country Swing, running on the latest BB upgrade.

Usually in the second chorus of playback, the stuttering starts and becomes useless, until I restart from fresh.

BB Tech support recommended to change sample rate from 480 to 441 and delete couple of files...did not help!

Is there a problem with Real Track 975?
My desktop is Dell Inspiron 660 with 1 tb disk and 8 gb memory and has available 185 gb disk space available.

If you ran into problem like mine, how did you resolve the issue? Thanks.

jol,

What tempo is the song? Is it really fast?

If so, her is something to try as a test...

1. right-click on the chord sheet

2. select "Song Settings"

3. in the song settings, there's an option called "This song has playback problems, disable fast generation" -- activate this option

4. generate and play the song (it will take a little longer before playback begins with the above option active -- probably 30 secs or so)

Does this help?

Regards,
Noel

Thanks Noel but my song is at 73 BPM.
I'll follow your suggestions and report what I find.

Noel, I did what you suggested and it improved: when I play about 7 songs in one setting, it would start stuttering in about 14 minutes before, after I applied your suggestion, it lasted about 35 minutes but the stuttering came back...

It would start at bar 28 every time on my second chorus, so I cleaned up the song and created the same song from scratch and applied the following:

(1) changed sample rate from 480 to 441 in Win 10 Sound settings
(2) edited ntfsMemoryUsage to 2(increase) in the Win registry file
(3) (a) check the box for 'This song has playback problems, disable Fast Generation' in song settings, (b) Uncheck 'Speed up generation of Real Track(disable on slow machines)', set tempo/pitch stretching quality(reduce on slow machine) to Low in Options-Preference-Real Track settings window.

So far the stuttering has not returned...whew...Thanks a million Noel!

Hi Jazzerbird,

If you're using Windows 10, let's also try this: Open the Windows Control Panel, go to Power Options, click Change Plan Settings beside whichever plan is selected, then Change Advanced Power Settings.

Power Options will appear. Scroll down to Processor Power Management, expand it by clicking the + button, then expand Minimum Processor State.

If it's set to something low (5% is a common default), change it to 100%, restart the computer, and you can probably get away with re-enabling fast generation of the RealTracks.

For some reason a lot of copies of Windows 10 have the processor power throttled to save electricity, which can cause performance issues in audio software. Changing that setting gets it running at full speed. smile

Thanks
Kent

I find this also a must do regarding power plans, and especially if you use USB for active external drives and/or audio: De-select Power management for EACH USB hub (via right click on properties):

This is good advice. Remember that every Win 10 update may reset these USB settings. I have had Win 10 updates reset all, some, or none of them. If I have problems after an update this is the first thing that I check. YMMV
