I've tried writing the TAB indirectly by playing with the notes. Go into the Editable Notation Mode in the Notation Window (if it is a Melody then make sure you first specify the Track Type -- under the Melody Menu -- Choose "Guitar"). Place a note on the staff using your mouse, then slide it up or down or sideways until you get what you want. You can adjust the position as to which strings it goes onto by "Right-Clicking" on the note, and Choosing Edit Note... a Dialogue window will open up.. choose the desired channel i.e. Ch 11 to Ch 16 -- Ch 11 is the high E String, Ch 16 is the low E.

Good Luck.
