Hi Wish,
You've got the folder in the right place.
The name is wrong, though. In my \bb, the folder is called "DragDrop" (without inverted commas).
Just rename the folder that you have made.

We do seem to be on the right track though. If the folder was indeed missing, then I'm just about positive that the problem will be solved as soon as the folder has the correct name.  Cheers Kent PG Music

Speaking of folders, I would suggest first standardizing the workflow by creating a separate subfolder for each song.
Create a folder in a directory that has space for storage. If you do not have an HD used for storage, a Western Electric Passport will do, even a thumb drive. In that folder, create a subfolder for the song. Let's say the project (or, set)
folder is "October," and the name of the song is "Halloween."
Create a folder in a safe storage place. Name it "October."
Create a shortcut to the desktop for "October."
Your song folders go here. Open "October" an add a subfolder named "Halloween. From there, it is a matter of preference how many subfolders will be in that "Halloween" folder.
Certainly, one of those subfolders will be "BiaB." That folder will have the BiaB project and any wavs, mp3s, files associated with that song. A note of caution: when the location of a file is changed, always open, view, and save, so that file will not get confused as to where the file assets are located or where to store the files when you save or create them.
I suggest another folder called "Reaper." (That BiaB folder can fill up.) Open Reaper, click new project, name it "Halloween", and save it to the desktop. Then drag it into the "Halloween" file. Reboot the file system by opening and closing the Reaper file in its new location. (Desktop is your friend.)
Now, then, you are ready to start the process of building the Reaper rendition. Start by dragging Band in a Box WAV rendered WAV files that you want to use in Reaper from that "BaiB" folder into the "Reaper" folder.
If you've done it right, those WAV files will show up in Reaper's explorer panel when you open the project. Drag the wavz to the timelines.
Say you have another WAV somewhere that you want to use. Copy and past it into October/Halloween/Reaper/. Say you bounce or render a Reaper project. It will ask you to name it, and automatically save it to the directory of origin, which is "Halloween."
Maybe this will help.
(Last note: you don't want to be dragging assets from all over hell and gone into project software of any kind. Even if the project software should have some kind of extraordinary search and rescue ability, such as BaiB definitly has, the sorting capacity of the human mind has limitations.)

What I do I have about 6 or so Folders. I have them on a 1TB drive. One is BBstuff where the BB SGU, MGU (projects) live. Another is BIABwav this is where the wav files go into separate folders for each song. Another called Reaper Projects. Another Reaper Renders. Sonar Projects and Sonar Audio. And a folder with the MP3s that I actually use for backing and load onto my laptop.
I end up with lots of copies. However once I am satisfied with my keeper song I clean up. For example, each Reaper render keeps a new version. I keep the versions for a while. I might listen to the song a few days later and notice something I don’t like or a glitch I didn’t pick up earlier. Rarely an earlier version was better. Once I am satisfied I go through the Reaper Renders and delete the extras. I normally keep the BIAB wav files unless there is an issue with a file. Really I have multiple copies of stuff more than I need but I also have heaps of room for it all.
I have occasionally gone back from Reaper to loading the SGU into RealBand and changing a part or maybe BB to edit the song (particularly endings) or add a new instrument. In some cases I find another Style I like better and start again.
I might create a new SGU file with a heap of part changes and lots of 4 bars with holds etc to construct drum fills or endings. I can then pull them into Reaper chop, change and add bits.
All sounds a lot of work when you write it like this but it is really quite simple. Quite a bit of it all is automated making the process easy to manage.

Thanks for that, Tony. That's another approach, which, if it works for you, is the one to stick with, refine, and develop.
I got away from project folders; by that I mean a folder titled, say, "BiaB Projects,"
although at one time, those kinds of folders were seen all the time. Adobe Premiere, for example, was rushed to market before either format conversion or asset management was adequate. Today, it is a different story. Not long ago, if file formats didn't match exactly, you'd get an error message. Same thing for asset locations. There was none of this searching for files. The file system I use is probably not uncommon. Each song is a project. Each associated program or asset
is in that project folder. Mind you, not long ago, the editing programs took forever to reboot. Today, it's no time at all.
It is a different world; but still, the user can do his part. The issue is files dragged and dropped into Reaper being rejected. I'll be interested in hearing if moving those files to the explorer pane solved the problem.

The issue is files dragged and dropped into Reaper being rejected. I'll be interested in hearing if moving those files to the explorer pane solved the problem. I have never had an issue with files being rejected. Having said that I only drag .wav files in. I usually pull midi into Sonar (if I am using midi at all) where I have more experience with midi and better synths and tools already to go. I then also render the midi to wav before pulling them into Reaper. Tony
