I was trying to export separate tracks to external DAW (Reaper and Tracktion). I used drag/drop Master and Guitar1 on MP3 target in Drop area in top left corner. Master renders as 1:24 stereo MP3: CORRECT rendition - Master with all volumes zeroed except for Guitar1 Guitar1 renders as 2:48 mono MP3 (it seems that both stereo tracks are rendered and saved sequentially): INCORRECT rendition - Guitar1 only Some tracks render correctly as 1:24 mono - Bass and Guitar2. But the Guitar2 and Guitar3 (soloist) render incorrectly as 2:48 (double length) MP3. So the only way to get separate tracks correctly rendered MP3s is to render Master with all the volumes set to 0 except the intended one (or using Solo function). But then you get all of them as stereo. If you try to Drop them as WAV it gets slightly better - all track are correctly but Soloist is garbled - it seems that you get mono track twice as long with track at normal and half speed superimposed.

Hi Woland, Can you please update to 520 and see if you still have problems? You shouldn't be running 516 anymore. http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windowsupdates.htm#520Thanks Kent PG Music

Thanks Kent - downloading now - 516 came in couple weeks ago as USB external drive as part of UltraPAK. Downloading 520 now - will let you know if that fixed the problem.

Sorry but 520 build has exactly the same problem - maybe even to larger extent now even WAV files are rendered in a corrupted way.

No problems here moving tracks to Reaper, but I don't move them like you do. There is No need for a mp3 render and/or there is no need for using the "drop area". Simply drag the Master radial button or any individual track button on the top over and drop it in a lane in Reaper. This will permit you to move any and all individual wave files and or midi directly to reaper as individual tracks. If this is not working for you then try to reset to factory conditions.

I'd also try dragging the tracks directly to a folder on the hard drive, and opening them in something like Media Player before taking them into Reaper. If tracks sound like they're playing at half speed, the DAW might be stretching them automatically.
Thanks Kent PG Music

Sorry Kent that does not work - #1 every time I drag the track into Reaper I have to do it twice. First time it has no effect. The guitar track were OK but bass track was twice as slow as the tempo of the song. The style I am using is _GJBALAD.STY with tempo in BIAB set to 120 and project in Reaper set to same tempo. Btw - dragging and dropping WAV works fine in Tracktion - well, at least in those times I tried it. I think that is intermittent issue and you should try few more times in Reaper. I do not know Reaper all that well - I am quite used to Tracktion - been using it for 10yrs or so - good compact tool for small homebrew projects that I do.

Hi Woland,
I was requesting that you drag the tracks to File Explorer, and open them in Media Player before taking them into Reaper, so I'm not sure what you mean by "does not work".
Did that bass track that plays at half speed in Reaper play normally in Media Player, or does it play half-speed there too?
Please try this exact test and let us know what happens. It's important that we figure out if Band-in-a-Box is exporting incorrectly, or if Reaper is importing incorrectly, and this will tell us right away. I have a feeling that the latter is the case, but we should make sure before proceeding any further.
Thanks Kent PG Music

Thanks Kent PG Music I will test it (dropping files onto File Explorer) - but I believe that that is what dropping into "Drop Area" in BIAB should be doing. As I said problem is intemittent (it is not always Bass track). It also does not seem to occur when dragging tracks into Tracktion. OK I finished dragging - from BIAB in the DAW Plugin mode into Explorer. Bass, drums on one rhythm guitar generated (WAV) correctly. Second rhythm guitar and soloist generated incorrectly. Then I tried - for completeness to drag from BIAB in normal mode (not DAW Plugin one) into Explorer. This time ALL tracks generated incorrectly. I firmly believe that it is intermittent BIAB error. Also - a weird side effect - when generating in normal mode I had to have BIAB on second monitor. It was not correctly maximized vertically. But when you dragged and dropped then the app would stretch out vertically to fill the screen. In both tests multiple dragging was required to generate track - in 80% of the cases first time resulted in nothing generated. Only after second time track was generated. There was no correlation between number of attempts and correctness of generated track. I think your test team needs to look at it. I can send you both test song and zipped generated tracks.

Some were immediately wrong - 2:47 long instead of expected 1:23. But even some those that had right length were corrupted.

Hi Woland, Kent asked: Hi Woland99, Were you testing those WAV files that you'd dragged to Explorer in Media Player, or were you taking them into a DAW? Thanks The answer question to that could be a key point in trying to assist you.

Thanks The answer question to that could be a key point in trying to assist you. I dragged them into Explorer then listened to them - no DAW was involved. The errors are intermittent and somewhat random in nature - different tracks can be rendered correctly one time and incorrect at different times. I tried following combinations: 1. dragging single tracks into Tracktion 2. dragging single tracks into Reaper 3. dragging single tracks in Explorer 4. dragging Master with Solo set into Explorer 5. dragging single tracks with Solo set into Drag&Drop area in BIAB Tried both MP3 and WAV. So far best results come from #1. All other randomly produce errors. No offense but I do not think it is my job to work as a test team for PG Music. That error occurs on fresh install of BIAB on Win10 - latest build.

Some times there is some 'lost in space' chord to be found some where beyond the 'end' bar, usually the result of arrangement changes and copying/pasting or switching on/of 'tag exists' or '2-bar ending'. I found it some times rewarding before exporting wavs and midis, it to be useful to select a lot of bars in the 'greyed out' arrangement window beyond the end, and just press 'delete'. F

F The song arrangement is very simple AABA - no double ending or repetitions. When I say that tracks rendition is "corrupted" I mean that it creates weird artifacts that simply should not be there. Here is example - same track rendered correctly then on subsequent drag&drop it is rendered incorrectly. Master renders as 1:24 stereo MP3: CORRECT rendition - Master with all volumes zeroed except for Guitar1 Guitar1 renders as 2:48 mono MP3 : INCORRECT rendition - Guitar1 only

Hi Woland99,
If you're getting different results depending on which program you're dragging these WAV files into, then I suspect that the program is doing something to the files. When you drag a track name to the Drop station, a WAV file is generated, and the exact same WAV file is dragged out of the Drop station, regardless of which program you're dragging into.
Next, please try this:
Drag a WAV file to Explorer, then try dragging that same WAV file into both Reaper and Traktion, let's see if they give you different results.
Drag and drop is working flawlessly for me so far, so we'll have to do these tests on your machine. You're welcome to call our tech support line if you'd rather discuss this over the phone though. 1-866-983-2474
Thanks Kent PG Music

I just installed the Reaper demo, and drag and drop into Reaper isn't giving me any issues. If you give us a call today I'll be happy to help you figure out what's going wrong when you do it.
Thanks Kent PG Music

Thanks Kent PG Music Thanks a lot Kent - I appreciate the support you provide. Let me collect some data points over the weekend - do it in clean reboot (I typically run virtual machine for Win7 along with Win 10 and I know for the fact it can affect audio processing), different scenarios etc. I will contact you next week. PS. Reaper is at this point less important than Tracktion - I have much more experience with Tracktion and for my very limited purposes it is a good and simple to use DAW.
