I use 'normal' in SONAR also, but that really only saves the edits and settings. The choice 'bundle' for save is supposed to save everything, including source audio files, so you can take the entire project to another computer. I'm guessing that, if it doesn't work for you, it has something to do with the way BIAB creates a temp folder with your audio files before they then go into SONAR. As you know, in SONAR the editing is non-destructive, so the original audio files have to be stored somewhere. This process also accounts for the delay you see before the audio file loads into SONAR.
I researched all this during beta testing. I'll take another look at where these files are going and how it works internally.
As an aside, apparently there are different ways to accomplish drag and drop in different sequencer programs. For example, it reportedly does not work directly in Cubase and requires a workaround.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Re the rewire/ vsti things. Both would be good. Calling program 'drag and drop' a DAW Plugin is ... to be as nice as possible ... a streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch.
KVR seems to report at least one new midi app a month that is functioning as a full-blown VSTi plug in. For examples, look at the 'Thesys' by Sugar Bytes, 'Catanya' by 7Aliens or, on an admittedly simpler basis, 'Harmony Improvisator' by cochleor. Midi processing is not that cpu intensive.
PGMusic, bless their hearts, seem to keep a steady beat to their own drum while trying to break new ground with their products ... as opposed to incorporating mainstream programming principles as simple as file names longer than 8 characters or addressable folder/ directory structure, etc.
It is what it is and I like it very much ... but use of the word "plugin" to describe a drag n' drop feature with a reduced size window is ... well, you decide.
