Hello KGU 2,

The Reason you are seeing this is RealBand is geared towards Multi-Channel work in both Recording and MIDI.

Band-in-a-Box is geared towards generating backing tracks, and was never intended to be a DAW replacement.

When you import a MIDI file into Band-in-a-Box, it will import the entirety of it to the Melody Channel, leaving the rest of the channels open for generation of MIDI and RealTracks.

If you really need to split your MIDI channels in Band-in-a-Box, you can work around this by importing the MIDI file into the Melody Track, then going Edit > Copy Special > Copy/ Move Tracks. Here you can select the individual channels and move them to another track in the Mixer.

C-sharp when you cross the street… or you’re going to B-flat.
