A patch is a sound. RTs are patches as are MIDI sounds.
A plugin is an effect. EQ, reverb, compressors, limiters, etc are plugins. Plugins will affect the sound of a patch.
I hope this is what you were asking and I hope this helps.
Hello Mario, Thank you for your message. I appreciate your help. It's clear now that "plugins" will literally be effects. For patches and RealDrums that don't have any plugins, they each show "none, none, none, none" in their top slot. When clicking on "none" I see that a plugin can be added. Does it matter which of the four "none" slots I select to add a plugin/effect? Thanks again, Joel
