Hi Will;
Unfortunately, I've never been able to figure out the "Real Strings" to my satisfaction. I have totally no control over them.
Therefore, I was forced to purchase a MIDI keyboard and use the "Plogue Sforzando" plugin (supplied by BIAB) to get somewhere close to how I wanted my strings to sound...but a lot of work and experimentations after that!
If you currently don't have a MIDI KB, you're going to have to get one if you plan on following this path. May I suggest you contact the good folks at BIAB Customer service to assist you in connecting your MIDI to BIAB, or what ever DAW you decide to choose. This is a whole new area if you are just beginning.
I can't stress patience enough...
