You should probably post in this question in the Beginners Forum - the User Showcase is used for people to post completed songs.

The "upstroke" is called a "push" in BiaB. Putting the caret symbol ^ in front of a chord indicates that you want to "push" the chord back 1/8th note, which is what you want the G chord to do. If you want a 16th note push, you would use two carets: ^^

Notice that the D in the 4th bar is also pushed back by an 8th note.

So the chords for the first 4 bars would be:

Em7 D/F# | ^G | Cadd2 | G ^D |

How well this works depends on the instruments in the style. Some work well with pushes, others... not so much. In some cases, you may find that it makes sense for the instruments not to push the beat, even if the vocal is syncopated.
