Yes you will have to use a high quality virtual instrument player like Kontakt. Have a look at www.RapidComposer.com it can work as a standalone app or vst, you can load Kontakt into it and have an articulation set for each instrument, this allows you to right click a note and add any articulation to it. The phases can be saved then dragged and dropped onto any chord or scale fitting automatically.
There is a Coyote Forte DXi that has a lot better quality than the standard version but if you already have Kontakt that is the way to go.
