In case anyone is interested in inexpensive plugins: Today I downloaded Westwood Drums from Audio Assault. Hard to beat for $5. You get full kits with a choice of 4 kicks and 4 snares. You also get a mixer, EQ and EFX for them.
I compared them to MT Power Drums. I like the MT better and I think it is because they did all the compression work for you. My guess is the Westwood would sound really good if you used the EQ and EFX. In both, the crash cymbal has smooth hit and a nice tail.
The sale is on for the rest of the day.
