Also, when selecting an interface if you do not plan to use a mixer, be sure the interface supports phantom power for condenser mics and that it has audio preamps in it. Focusrite also supplies a software based mixer control which you essentially open once or twice to set the input and output levels to the channels, any DSP FX that you wish to use and close it. The settings are saved and never need to be touched again.

DSP FX is such things as the Focusrite built in EQ, reverb, compression. I left all those things either off or at a very low level.
