Hi Deacon Just coming back on this because it works so very well as a concept - AND in practise.
Is there any way that this can be "pegged" or "pinned" or whatever it is called so that it doesn't disappear down the threads and out of sight? There will still be many who haven't seen or watched this, and I think it is an important tweak.
I am currently running through a few SGU's in my Too Hard File where the RT strings in particular were just horrid and I abandoned the project. This clever idea seems to smooth them out at the changes. I had to remember to set them ALL to "simple" when adding them to my Medley otherwise I got random "excitement" from one or another at different times.
I did find that when using the vocal ooohs or aaahs (2 male + 2 female) in a section, they didn't always give me the expected triad as harmony and often not the 7th either etc. e.g. C,Dm would still sound like an ensemble C through the Dm part and when C became C7, the ensemble still Ooh'd a straight C. Minor issues and I am sure that with more practise on my side, they will get even better.
So - Can this be "pinned"??
Cheers ian

Hey there sixchannel, I'm so glad you appreciated the video, and I can really tell you've grasped and utilized what I was going for there With respect to the pinning thing, I'm in no way associated or affiliated with PG Music, and that's something they would have to do, and what I gather, they only pin posts about product, updates, contests, and the like. Now as far as the chord tones bit, well I'm so glad you brought that up. It's actually a major drawback to my method--potentially ;-) As you correctly refer to in your post, chords necessitate chord degrees, which you're are not going to get with vocals and instruments that are monophonic. Since my method is basically stacking single tones, where all extensions, even the critical third, will not be reproduced by the monophonic "1 Track Sections", something is bound to be sacrificed because that one voice will never opt to follow the seventh degree, or even the third, because it's committal. However, there is a somewhat advanced theory-based workaround that I kind of outlined at the end of the video before I decided to cut it short, and maybe I'll post about later this evening if I have the time. :-) All the best, Deacon
