Here's how I handle it.
In Options > Preferences > RealDrums
There is a "Global RealDrums Settings" area.
I don't want BIAB to add RealDrums to MIDI styles but I still want them (RDs) available if I decide to use them.
I leave "Enable RealDrums" checkbox on and
"Enable RealDrums style changes at any bar.
BUT
In the RealDrums Substitutions" area, I DISABLE the two checkboxes.
There's lots of variety in that window, you should be able to get what you need.
