I know it is probably too much to hope for but can the new VST generate bar by bar like I can do using multiriff in Realband?

Or is it just going to give me multiple complete track variations that I can import into my DAW and then slice-n-dice to get what I want there?

Guess we'll have to wait as for me i wasn't able to test it properly in Cubase 9. PG support said they're working on an updated version ... in my case it loaded a file alright but synced/slaved playback didn't quite work as i expected. F

In Studio One Pro 4 I have very mixed results including not opening it up and locking the machine up. I have been able to generate just one bar by making the song one bar long and unchecking the lead in and ending buttons.
I have not been able to highlight the bars then generate just them bars even though the video shows this being done.

There are plenty of issues with this plugin but I am looking forward to it being fixed and improved on.

its a disingenuous con.

The thing isn't a VST plugin in the sense we might expect at all. This "plugin" doesnt pipe BIAB MIDI into the DAW HOST api to play back VIs in the host. NOR dos it pipe ANY audio into the DAW host audio pipeline. Its merely a shell app written inside a VST - no MIDI or audio output. All it can do is obtain the tempo from the host. And maybe song position pointer info.... maybe...

And if one drags MIDI or audio tracks from the VST into a DAW track and changes something in the BIAB song and regenerates..
.... ONE HAS TO DRAG ALL THE REGENERATED TRACKS BACK INTO THE DAW ALL OVER AGAIN..

What a wonderful waste of time.

I use Reaper (32 bits Windows 7) as my main DAW, Can I use/load the new BIAB VST plugin? or I must turn to 64 OS? if yes, would Jbridge be the alternative?

I can't cross to 64 OS by now.

This is a little worrying. I would have expected the VSti to function after a given time just like any other VSTi would do.

Not being a programmer a lot of the above has gone over my head, so any clarification appreciated.

If you check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6hQ1Z9ldCU&feature=youtu.be at about the 8:30 mark you'll see that it is possible to generate selected bars. This is shown using the multiriff function which would give you 7 versions of the section. Choose the one you like and then insert into your track using your DAW.

There is a 32bit version in the download so you can choose the one you want.

I think REAPER is very clever and allows you to run 64bit plugins even if you are using the 32-bit version of REAPER. However why can't you just run the 64bit REAPER? All your 32-bit plugins will run fine in that version as well as 64bit ones.
