so..... VST Plugin ....
a question:
If one has dragged some generated audio or MIDI tracks from the VST plugin window into the DAW - and then one modifies the chord progression i some way and regenerates - do I have to drag the tracks into the DAW again or do the track displays just auto-update with the new BIAB content in-place?
is there a mode where one doesnt have to drag the tracks at all and instead the plugin just pipes the audio into a track as if it were a multichannel plugin like Kontakt?
And similarly can it just pipe MIDI from a MIDI or MIDI SuperTrack out of the plugin into the DAW MIDI input of a MIDI track and then just get processed by any plugin instrument hosted in the DAW instead of one hosted in BIAB?
I got an answer from PG Tech support directly.
< do I have to drag the tracks into the DAW again or do the track displays just auto-update with the new BIAB content in-place?>
YES
<is there a mode where one doesnt have to drag the tracks at all and instead the plugin just pipes the audio into a track as if it were a multichannel plugin like Kontakt? >
NO. THERE IS NO routing of ANY audio in real-time from the "plugin" into the host.

NO. No MIDI is going at all from the plugin into the DAW host.
So to cut a long story short - this is a highly disingenuous release, since it is the expectation for both VST and AU plugins .... ***FROM THE DAY STEINBERG CREATED THE VST STANDARD !!!! *** that a VST or AU plugin provides audio for the DAW host to use and process. And same for MIDI output - although not all plugins support that.
