Hi Experts, Within any of the default RealDrums styles available,is it possible to force the arrangement to temporarily use fewer kit pieces?
What I have in mind is the following:- A piece I'm creating has an 8-bar intro with JazzEven16 Real Drums,Bass and Electric Piano.Bars 1-4 rest Drums and Bass, then at bar 4 is a drum fill to bring in all instruments for bars 5-8,then another fill into bar 9 and the main theme.
What I'd like to do for the drums in bars 5-8 is to just have either hi-hat count or ride cymbal count, then bring in the rest of the kit at the bar 8 fill.
Within the many tunable settings,is there any way to achieve this without having to create a new RealDrums style and extensive text file editing?
I know it can be done using MIDI drums then breaking open the MIDI file eg in RealBand to each kit piece, but this then detracts from the whole point of having RealDrums available for the last decade.
Any suggestions,comments very welcome.

Realdrums do not offer individual instrumental control.
That said, in BIAB 2019, Realdrums with notation were introduced. Since this notation is MIDI-based, it is easy to use it with either a general midi synth or a dedicated drum synth such as EZ Drummer to drive a drumkit. By adding or removing the necessary notes from the midi notation, you could arrange the drums as you want.
As an example, the link below takes you a file I created that began with "NashvilleEven8^1". My process was as follows...
1. Loaded the Realdrums into BIAB.
2. Generated the track.
3. Dragged the "Realdrums" track on the horizontal menu to the MID section of the dropbox (see below). If my BIAB display looks different from yours use CTRL+T to switch between views.
4. I then right-clicked on the dropbox, opened the "DragDrop" folder and dragged the the .mid file to my DAW (I use Reaper).
5. Next, I put a softsynth on the midi track in Reaper and deleted and added notes to create a drum arrangement.
Below are 8-bar audio clips to give you and idea of how some different softsynths sound.
Neil, Since the one bar you want to customize is so simple, you could also try the following.
In your DAW open the WMA file for the desired RealDrum. (see below for where to find them) Go to the end of the file and there is a good chance you'll find solo hits of each drum. Many RealDrum files contain these, especially ones created since we started asking for them.
You should be able to easily copy the single hihat or ride cymbal you want and then paste it to the 1-2-3-4 of a measure. Once done, copy that measure and paste it 3 times so you have a 4 bar section. Copy those 4 bars to measures 5-8 in your song. Voila Probably take 10-15 minutes your first time doing it, and quicker in the future. There are also variations of realdrums you could check out if you weren't aware(second image). I also went ahead and opened your JazzEven16 WMA (60) and the third image shows the location of a HiHat - Snare - HiHat set of isolated hits. In this particular file they were a little trickier to find. The ones at the very end of this file have a bass drum hit with them, but these were a little earlier in the file. There are enough individual hits to be found in the file to assemble your own drums. You're only limited by time and your editing capabilities.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
