Dancin' ShoesI've worked on the backing tracks off and on for several weeks. This is where I decided I'd done all I could do with it. Open for any suggestions to make it better - other than get another singer. I already know that! Di and I both have been very ill the past ten days or so but hope to get back to more listening and commenting real soon. She's been in the hospital with it once and I probably should have been. But, someone has to keep the lights on and the dog fed. ****** Song Summary - Dancin’ Shoes ************* Title: Dancin' Shoes File:Dancin' Shoes 4.SGU Key=A , Tempo 120, Length (m:s)=2:56 RealTracks in style: 1417:Bass, Electric, RootsRock Ev 100 RealTracks in style: 2763:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm CountryBluesRockMike Ev 110 RealTracks in song: ~669:Guitar, Slide, Background EasySouthern Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 2634:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountryBluesRock Ev 110 RealTracks in song: 671:Organ, B3, Background Southern Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 2636:Guitar, Electric, Soloist CountryBluesRock Ev 110 RealDrums [in style:NashvilleEven8^5-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, Ride ******************* Dancin’ Shoes © 2017 Alan D. Alan,
Well done!
You've got that Seger sound going good. (Though, for his stuff the piano would be up just slightly more, I think).
A well written rocker. Your vocal is terrific - I like it...it's "weathered" - you definitely don't need someone else...
Good mix. A good listen. Enjoyed it.
Y'all get well!

IMHO the way to make it better would be to leave it as is!
You can sing rock and should sing it more often. Great song, great mix and great vocals.
But first and foremost I hope you and Di are doing much better now.

Funny, "Get a singer" never once popped into my head. (And my inner critic isn't shy).
I enjoyed the listen! Hope you're doing better.

fj Hi Floyd, Thanks a bunch. "Weathered", eh??? You mean an old fart!!! I appreciate your comments on the vocal. And I think you're right about the piano could b a little more prominent. Thanks for the suggestion and kindness. Alan

But first and foremost I hope you and Di are doing much better now. Hi Mario, Many thanks, my friend! Rock never was my strong suit - either as a vocalist or musician. But I'm glad this one works. I'm getting somewhat better but Di is really struggling - had to take her to ER today. But we appreciate the thoughts. Best to you. Alan

It's a cool song and the distorted slide suits is well. Personally I'll pull the organ back for the most part - pop it up at the end of verses & choruses and balance the piano with rhythm guitar but that's me being old fashioned I think. I reckon the vocal fits in well too. Good one - I enjoyed it.

Al,
As you can tell from other posters... let`s hear no more of that "other singer"line; this rocker Al guy sounds fine! Your infallible ear for a classic sounding song shows up again- this is excellent rocker.

I just slipped back into the halcyon days of yore listening to this song. Great rocker. All the instruments meld together well with the grizzled rocker vocals.
