Some very nice guitar playing and a good strong vocal and catchy chorus.
A very enjoyable country song.

Cliff, your vocal is about as authentic as it gets. Good guitar solo. The lyrics kept me engaged. A toe tapping good listen, Tom

Thank You Floyd, i write them pretty quick usually on Tuesday night, that is studio night, sometimes Sunday, Corey and I will work some songs in the studio then also. i usually have about a 3 to 4 hour window to write, record , mix and master. Flows good usually. Cliff

Dear "cliftond"...

The inspiration you obviously took from the musicians who are the subjects of your song, "Looking Back On Lucenbach", lends the proper heroic and legendary feel to your lyrics, and surely is responsible for the nostalgic sound of the music. Your vocal in particular...it just shines with the light of the memories of the country music culture of the 70's that you seemingly clearly recall with such reverence.

There is something about "country" music that I can't quite put my finger on, that is, if I was going to attempt to explain it to somebody. Nonetheless, I know it when I hear it. I certainly heard "it" in your full-bodied music, your vividly descriptive lyrics, and you and your bandmates' committed performances.

Gettin' closer it "it",

LOREN

Alan.

PS: I wonder how many folks outside of texas are familiar with Jerry Jeff Walker. And, of course, there's Kinky Friedman and Rusty Wier.

Well hell, who can compare to that!!! ha, WOW TO HAVE A 54 TELE!!! AMAZING, YEAR I WAS BORN also. Alan, I love the old country music, started with Hank williams when I was 12 learning the guitar in about 68, first heard waylon in 70 with good hearted woman, before he and Willie did it later, first really heard Willie in 75 when he came out with Blue eyes, I had heard the Hank williams version earlier, this was a Fred Rose song from about 1950. I like music to have a meaning and sound raw to the ear. Cliff

Your song brings many memories, both listening to those old songs & playing them...
Jaded Lover, Up Against the Wall, London Homesick Blues...
Fortunately here in Texas we can still hear & play those old tunes...
Good job on this one!

Being late to commenting there really not much I can ad. The title is truly awesome...which has been said; but I can't tell you how many times I've looked at that and thought "what a great title!"

Great song all the way around. It was a really good listen.

Yeah that title just came up when I started to write, it was pretty much instant coffee from there on.
