A couple of suggestions :
Can you select a real drum file in the finder, right click on it, open with quicktime player and make sure the files play and they aren't corrupt.

Then (like Mac said) I'd open the real drum picker, hit the settings button and make sure real drums are enabled, and the global volume is set to 0db.
