Hi Joe,
Not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I do this all the time. Work on parts, save, later come back. No issues here.
If you are asking about the soloist just doing the intro, you will be able to mute the soloist at the first bar after the intro and let the soloist come back in at whichever bar you like. I always "unfold" (under the Edit option) my projects (into one big chorus) and that gives me the freedom to mute/unmute either soloist of melodist at whichever place within the project.
Not sure if this makes sense or if I understood your question right.
