It's to be able to add Biab tracks to old recording you made 30 years ago. Those old recordings were in most cases just live, no click so yes the tempo was all over the place. We're talking now about using it in a modern studio setting. There are so many different ways people record but I would guess 80-90% of the time modern studio sessions are using a click. Unless all the players are bozo's there's no need for a tempo map.



ACW will write tempo changes on nearly each bar no matter if the original audio was recorded with a metronome or not.
