I rendered a song with no problems about an hour ago.

Half hour later, I rendered a second song with the same style but it continued to fail until I muted the "Instrument: 1 standard drum kit."

My config: HP 64 based PC: Windows 10 Home 64, patches up to date; 8 G ram, Hard drive: 1 T free, 814 G used; Presonus AudioBox 22VSL, drivers up to date; BIAB 32 2019 patches up to date, ASIO; "Use VSTi/DXi Synth" not checked

Any ideas folks?

Not really a concern because the second song I really need to work on more before it is out for general consumption.

Thanks bunches!

Do you have other programs running in Windows? Close those and try again.

To test if it is a problem of using up Windows resources, reboot the computer and try again.

Nothing else was open and I rebooted with the same result.

Deb,

I notice that you have deactivated the VSTSynthFont64 softsynth.

In past versions of BIAB, the rendering of a song has required that the VSTi/DXi setting must be active and a softsynth selected. It has also been necessary that Microsoft GS Wavetable has been selected in the Output drivers (even though it's not being used when a softsynth is active).

Regards,
Noel

Not sure how you get an image to show but the above link will show you my MIDI settings.

This is the only settings I had without getting the shuddering audio problem. I find it odd that I have it now in 32 when before I only had it in 64.

Now that I think about it, a lot of my problems went away when I took the AudioBox out of the mix with the 64 version.

Later today, I will go back to the onboard audio for this computer and try again with the 32 version. Will let you all know what I find out.

Sadly, I really need that AudioBox and would like to get it working with BIAB all versions.

Yes, I have tried every setting its software to get it to work with no avail. I thought it was working with 32.

It may be that I record something with the AudioBox, save and reboot after going back to the audio settings for just the desktop. Then render. After that, return to the AudioBox settings.

The 2018 version of BIAB worked great with my setup. Guess this version is a bit buggier than last year. I am sure they will get it worked out. PG Music is great!

Try this as Noel suggested.! Click on the check box “useVSTi/DXi synth” and from the drop down below that add The VSTsynthfont64. And try with your AudioBox just to make sure

Ok, will do. Yesterday was a bust so I did not get a chance to test anything.

This sounds like a good plan!!!

Ok, I have it working... Here is what I did.

I went looking around the MIDI screen and found the drop down box beside "General MIDI Instrument Misc." Looked at all the instruments, didn't find anything I wanted and when I went back to "General MIDI Instrument Misc.", it asked me if I wanted to install a driver. I said yes. It installed and I am working.

Thanks All. I really don't know anything about MIDI but I am glad to get things working!!!

You all are great!

Both computers are working. I did the exact same thing as mentioned above to my laptop and after the install everything worked.

Thanks all!
