Currently - for historical reasons going back to when personal computer operating system file-names were limited in length - the filename saved "to disk" is different from the full-length song name held in the song metadata.

This - to me at least is a real drag and workflow-slowdowner.

It also means that one has to now and then do a rebuild-list thing from time to time.

Given both Windows and Mac file systems have allows much longer filenames for many years now. Decades actually - it seems to me it is high time that the song name in the MGU/SGU file metadata needs to just go - and be replaced with whatever the filename is.

Its high time BIAB started behaving a little more like typical Windows and OSX apps in this regard and sheds the skin of its former ST/MacOS9/Windows 3.1 days
