This is one of the new features of BIAB 2019:

-There's a keystroke entry notation mode - the "N" mode, which lets you enter a melody entirely using keystrokes. The keystrokes are N to enter a note, up/down cursor to change its pitch, and left/right cursor to move the time line.

I think it's a great innovation but I must be missing something. Does anyone know if there's a keystroke to enter rests? If it's necessary to take your hands off the keyboard, pick up the mouse, click the "Rest" checkbox and then use the mouse to enter the rest at the desired location then this seems to defeat the whole purpose of this method of speedy melody input. If the "N" key enters a note then ideally pressing another key should be all that is necessary to place a rest at the current timeline. I've looked at the Help file but I can't find anything to suggest that this is possible..
