BIAB does not come with the codecs needed to create mp3 files. If you especially want mp3 rather than the alternative Windows compressed format of wma, then it's necessary to either...

(a) install mp3 codecs using something like K-Lite (these are freeware).

(If I recall correctly, it's the 'Mega' package that contains the mp3 coecs.)

(b) Download a separate program to do the conversion (there are heaps of freeware ones around).

I use 'Free Audio Converter' and it offers a heap more control over the final product that's created than BIAB's saving as mp3.
