"Tano Music"...

"Yoke Up!" is charming, cool, and elegant, all at the same time. I liked the slightly irregular verse lengths because they made your singing sound more spontaneous.

Your strings arrangement is lean, low-key, and luxuriant, a perfect companion to the percussion-flavored bossa nova rhythm. The organ shots are retro-fabulous, and Gary Smulyan's baritone sax riffs are strappingly sinuous.

You seem to write lyrics as easily a rolling a smoke! They lend a casual, off-the-cuff feel to "Yoke Up", as though you were a cocktail jazz pianist performing during "Happy Hour" in a local club, dropping clever one-liners and dispensing tidbits of personalized wisdom to your audience.

Dave Frishberg would appreciate "Yoke Up", I think. I sure do!
