After using this new VST version im really not satisfied , it is such more time consuming than draging with the old method ... really dont understand the benefit. The only one i saw before using the vst was not having to open BBW sereparatly , but now using it , it is so long to have the files rendered that is become no more interesting
Secondly the vst when playing is not playing in a track of the daw but we hear it from a separate so not possible to send it to another track we need to copy the files before.
it is not really a vst as other vst but more a software running independently
So being able to use Biab in a rewire mode is still needed for my use
I can appreciate your feeling, but don't give up hope it is there now we all wanted it for a long time. I know that the techs are working hard not only to fix the current issues but add more features and options. Mr. Gannon has stated that render speed is very important to him. I believe that very soon we will get a more stable and more efficient build.

I think rewire could be a great option. My fear is that if they started down the path of rewire it would also have some growing pain. One must admit getting something as complicated as BiaB working as a VSTi or a rewire client is harder than a typical plug or program this thing is deep and layered.
I hope they the developers stick with the plugin till it’s rock solid then tackle any other projects like rewire for those that are mightnlike it. If that is feasible.

I read some posts talking about the complexity of it but .. i still hope this will be possible one day . The realtrack event was the last big improvement. this will be another .
I also would very much like to see ReWire. The VST plugin is a step forward, but ReWire capability would do a lot more to augment BIAB's ability to work in sync with my DAW.
To PG Music: A sincere THANK YOU for the VST plugin, but I bet there are a LOT of people waiting on the sidelines until you implement ReWire.
If the developers stick to the plan of finishing out the development of the vst and at the rate they are going, I might have to live into my 90's for that!!!
Come on now, that’s somewhat unfair. Look this VSTi is a great step toward utilizing BiaB technology in the DAW of our choice. It has been really only about two months or so and many of the issue have been solved. Some of the things on the punch list are request or enhancements. There are many options that we already had like the daw plugin mode on both BiaB and RB. These are still there. I am confident that PGM will at some point at more options maybe rewire, maybe other stuff. We have many cool options to play with now

The ReWireVST works great in Realband as the ReWire Master ReWire RealBand Biab Plugin & ReWire In Biab the ReWireVST audio sent from the DAW is just crackling if this can be sorted out it would work good until ReWire proper is implemented. But yea, get the plugin sorted out first. http://energy-xt.com/rewire-vst.html
I think rather than rewire the developers simply need to add an option to stream audio directly from generated audio held in the BB4. engine.
in discussion with Pipeline it seems the Plugin takes ages because it is writing out the tracks to disk - whereas the standalone version generates into RAM. if - after the BB4 server engine ( for the plugin ) - the plugin was to steam audio from BB4 directly - not writing anything to disk but merely playing back audio into the DAW then things ought to be exactly the same generation time-wise as BIAB standalone.

Both ReWire and the Plugin maybe able to play direct from the tracks that BBW4/BB4 could generates to RAM, but when it comes to dragging the tracks to the DAW it's going to take time to render to disk.
And its that huge wait for rendering to disk that needs to be solved ASAP - because workflow wise - these waits ( not to mention bugs ) currently make the plugin useless for anything - unless one has already spent time fixing the entire arrangement.
In which case really there isnt much benefit to the plugin except that one can have the playback and current chord being highlighted as one player the tune in a DAW oh and having the progression saved in the DAW project save-state. But then there isnt much advantage really to having the save-state saved - if one isnt doing any more suck-it-and-see type of work on the project chord-progression wise.
Because until the above realtime streaming from BBM/BIAB features are added - the plugin certainly isnt fit for any early production or composing process when one wants to do any experimentation or try out of different progression ideas.
I really think this plugin-thing was released much too early. It lacks essential features - and frankly is as buggy as hell. And should still be in alpha state. Sorry to be a party pooper but this kind of thing happens just os often. And I've paid many hundreds of dollars over decades now for latest update based on a new promised feature only to find that the feature is either half-baked or that latest BIAB is just too buggy.
This happened when they announced a "plugin-mode" which wasn't actually a plugin at all This happened when they added ability to host VST/AU plugins . This happened when they *finally* added the piano-roll editor This happened when they recently added true plugin operation for OSX.
And this - is why I STILL stand by my argument that PG should consider becoming part of Yamaha or Steinberg. If Yamaha will have them.

I see Yamaha have followed and learnt from PG Music as they now have Audio Styles with RT and RD. It was not Yamaha's idea. It took 50 years for Steinberg to add a simple chord track, when did PG have a chord track. If PG had of sold out Biab to Yamaha it would still be midi and so would their keyboards without PG's ingenuity. The original idea of the Biab Plugin was to add tracks to your recorded session live or studio this way you already have the chords you are not making songs from scratch, that's what Biab main is for. The Biab Plugin was a lite version without zillions of features and menus with a very high learning curve, there are so many DAW users that were put off by the complexities of Biab. There are users that have learnt Biab over 500 years and would rather ReWire than a simple basic Plugin. I don't think the Biab Plugin was designed and marketed for you, but for DAW only users that would not go near the Biab main app because of the complexities mention before, so would not a super complex Plugin put them off. You are lucky you weren't a Win Beta tester when the plugin was first released, if you thinks it's bad now. Just give it some time it will get there. Adar works flat out every day improving and fixing issues.
Yeah Rewrite would be nice, after playing around with the plugin, I ended abandoning the plugin and up going back to just dragging the wave files Band in a Box generates into my DAW, but then of course anytime I make a change to the song in Band in a Box I have to go through and do it all over again.
Ideally I'd rather have the full version of Band In Box running and synced together with my DAW as a slave.
ReWire has been asked for since 1857 so it must of been a major problem to implement...
Awwww c'mon now, I think you are exaggerating. I'm sure you actually meant to say that ReWire has been asked for since 1957
