Dear Alan...

Ma-a-a-nnn, this song, "The Simple Things", hurtled me back in time somewhere in the late 70's or early 80's, to a too-crowded dance floor in a lounge on the South side of Chicago, holdin' 'er tight while the feelin' was right...

You. Got. This. Genre. Down. Ya' dig??? Pure R & B in a smo-o-o-th jazz wrapper, baby. Damn, but this is good, down-home, love-talkin' music for sure!

Let's not forget the plain n' simple truth shining from your thoughtful lyrics, too. They express the ultimate pleasures of being in a loving relationship with what is known as "The One". Anyone who gives more love than they take can "get to this" message way down deep in their soul, straight, no chaser.

Alan, listening to your song posts over the years convinces me that your music reflects intimate knowledge of the heart, and exposes the experienced sensibilities of a man who has lived his life arms-wide-open to feeling, because you return so much of those feelings in your songs.

I'm gonna let my sibs listen to this so they can take their own "walk down memory lane".

To one mellow fellow,

LOREN

P.S. Dear Ms. Di...

Obviously you have the desire
To keep fanning your fire
So, no matter how low life's got you feeling
I'm still praying for your healing!
