https://soundcloud.com/spontaneousgrvncombustion/tune-10

This is my tenth production with PG Music software. All tracks are RealTracks and RealDrums. Given the nature of this fast tempo Fusion piece, I chose to keep my woodwinds out of it. Thanks to Craig Scott, Alex Al, Jeff Lorber, Carlos E. Arellano, Michael Thompson, Steve Nelson, Ian McDougall, and Ed Clare for their fine playing!

The Basic Style was FUS_250. The 10-band EQ, and PG Reverb were used on most tracks, with Chorus/Echo on the solo guitar and the trombone. Other than BIAB/RB, Audacity was used for a dash of post-mix editing (crop, Amplify, Fade Out, and mastering EQ).

As always, thanks very much for listening and please enjoy! If you dig it, please do leave a like and a comment, and consider following me at SoundCloud. Thanks guys!!

Uncompressed WAVs are available here https://spontaneousgroovincombustion.bandcamp.com/.

That's a good backing track. Would love to hear some off the wall soloing in there.

It is pleasant and busy but would've benefited from your feel & tone.
The snare being over to the side was a little disconcerting though.

Cheers

rayc, That's one of the things we'd benefit from with control over individual drums. In this case, the only way I could really separate the bass and drums is with a mild pan (only '5') from center. I'm surprised you heard that- good ears!

"Happy New Year", Mr. Keller...

Man-oh-man, this "Tune 10" of yours is s-s-sweet! I think that I have not heard anyone on this forum use a fusion style, unless I missed it. It has a professionally-arranged sound that is thrilling to listen to. The FUS_250 style is MIDI-only, but you made it sound like a Real Style.

May I ask a couple of questions? What was the time signature you used? My ear tells me it was compound. And what is your experience in the world of music?

I'm gonna keep that SoundCloud window open so I can listen to this, again.

Fascinated,

LOREN (a.k.a. "bluage")

Thanks Loren! Appreciate that! It's actually straight 4/4. And, though the skeleton style may have been MIDI, once in RealBand, everything was replaced w/ RealTracks except the synth strings #52.

My experience in music has been a long and somewhat interesting one, sometimes close but no cigar in a few genres, though it's been quite a ride, filled with some big ups and downs. If you're so inclined, you can read more here. Thanks again for listening, liking, and commenting! Please consider a like and a follow at SoundCloud.

Dear Mr. Keller...

Reading your bio was like watching an over-cranked film! You've definitely been busy as a working musician. Your seeming honesty about your limitations, and your energetic pursuit of self-improvement, is humbling. The paragraph on the realities of Country music songwriting was bluntly to-the-point.

I wish you well on your continuing journey in to the world music!

Sincerely,

LOREN
