Sorry for another question.
I have a song with 4/4 in triplets. I tried it with 12/8(6/8)but best results was in 4/4, tapping the bars in F8.
The song is going to end the first verse and refrain with a half bar, then starting the 2.nd verse.
I know, I could keep it as detected and get into the 2.nd verse at half the last bar, but it`s confusing a little then, so I would like to run the next verse in a new line with the lyrics. Also more songs have a cut/ half bar in them, so this could be helpful for others too. Theres also a chord run in triplets, that is not realizeable, as there are only two/four chords possible. Should I change to 12/8?

I maybe wrong and the song is in 12/8 or 6/8, as the chords change often in half the bar, but detecting the audio in ACW was so curios, I had to do it often to get a good result, as was not detectable in 12/8-6/8, it runs/shows 1000 bars and more. So I took it as a 4/4 with triplets, even could`nt find a matching style yet, but thats not the problem, I only want to get the right chords and lyrics together.
If it is helpful, the song is: "I lieg am Ruckn" by Ludwig Hirsch, a greydark poet from Austria.

Change the time signature for that bar to 2/4.
There's really no such thing as half a measure is there?

I use the F5 key to do this. There you can change beats in the bar to 2 BUT be sure that in the following bar you use F5 again to return it to 4.
Each time you make any change using F5, you will see a red underlining of the bar.

sac,

Tagging on to those who have already commented...

You've given yourself a challenging task with which to learn BIAB. Because BIAB is primarily designed around the popular time signatures of 3/4 and 4/4, compound time signature (e.g. 12/8, 6/8, 9/8, etc.) have their own additional challenges when using the software.

If you've found that 4/4 (presumably as a swing [sw] style) is the time signature that works best for you, then, as others have said above, to get 'half a bar', you need to set that bar to 2 beats. As mentioned above, this is done by using Bar Settings (F5 or right-click on the bar in question and select "Bar Settings"). The image shows the setting to change. To reinforce what sixchannel said, the bar following the 2-beat bar needs to be set back to 4 beats (again using F5).

Regards,
Noel

Thanks a lot, folks.
I did not see your answers until I posted myself the answer, as I could find it on the mcìntosh forum, searching for this. So I edited- deleted my post at this point.
Sometimes one has to think over the edges..........as we say in germany.

I also had a problem with 2/4 using a Latin style. The rhythm really got weird for the two beats. Reverting to a standard 4/4 for the whole song fixed the problem
