Hi, is it normal when opening another song file in BiaB that the mixer settings remain the same as the previous edit. That is if you have muted say the 3rd instrument (whatever it may be) that the next song will have the mixer muting the same 3rd line. Is there an option to asvoid that happening.

Yeah that is a frustration I have as well changes are many times global. If you transpose a song to use a capo it stays for all songs. I wish that these type things were per song. It has bite me several times.

It is normal behavior but you can quickly mute/unmute all channels at once using the Mixer Master Mute button rather than individually mute/unmute each track and also in newer versions, you can mute/unmute tracks from within the StylePicker.

Instead of muting, set the mixer volume to zero for that instrument.

So we live with that, small price to pay for a great program.
It’s just if you are working on numerous songs one has to be aware to firstly open the mixer and try and reset the instruments and settings.

Right. Remember the tip Jim said, to mute by setting the volume to zero. That is saved with the song, whereas the Mute status is not.
