Maybe theres a Tute for this.If so please say.Ive created a BB SGU,so far so good. But the intro is missing at the moment. Its what I'd call a drone tone.I simply need a synth note of D plus one of F# later that plays on its own for 8 bars then continues under the backing.I guess its going to be midi unless theres some kind of loop?So should I load some sort of blank midi style, select a pad sound? But how would I use that track (piano roll?) to imput the two notes and have it run?Is this better done in RB oris BB good for it?

Can anyone offer a step by step procedure of how its done?IF it CAN be done.
Wendy

I would add eight bars, enter the notes (yes, MIDI), go into Editable Notation Mode, right click on the notes one at a time and change the duration.

Hi Wendy

Well as you say a sgu file I assume the melody and soloist track are free. So you can put midi notes on those.
Just insert a midi instrument on the track. This will need to be a continuous voice not one with a natural decay like piano , say a flute or pad as you say.
Then insert a single note in the first bar it is to sound in notation view and stretch the note length for the number of bars you need in piano roll, or editable staff mode notation mode and stretch the horizontal red line
Hope this is what you need
Mike

Mike is right to find a patch that sustains. A pad would be good.

You could use the stylemaker, to edit an existing style, or create a new (copied?) one, but the longest note you can program there lasts for 2 bars max ....

Hi Mike, or if anyone on this thread can help, I'm not a forum expert so please excuse any formatting Issues. I don't have a fancy setup but have Mac 2016 (build 161) which I get a ton of mileage out of. Hope to upgrade soon finances permitting.

I have tried a ton of styles etc. - I am hoping to find the purest "drone" backing track possible within BIAB. i.e., so I could have a static C7 (or any chord) for 8-32 bars, no style embellishments, leading tones, scale tones, arpeggios etc.

When experimenting with superimposing modes, scale choices, substitutions etc etc etc, this would help stay ultra focused.

Best I found so far were the string pads? I would like to emulate someone holding a static chord on a palatable clean synth sound forever if that makes sense. Purely for practicing purposes, not performance or song writing. Any help appreciated, Thank You. Layne
