I don't know if it is fair to say TV has been a net negative, but it is true that commercial TV is failing, losing viewers, declining in so many ways, and increasingly gearing its programming to society's lowest common denominator. Passive reception of whatever comes on the screen can produce a dangerous relativism, where there is no truth, no values, no aesthetic worth. Last edited by edshaw; 01/24/19 12:04 PM.
