Conceptually what he is saying goes way beyond mixing. There is value in many things both old and new.
It took me forever to get away from the self imposed limits I had.
From Dolly Parton to Devo was a big jump. I, at the time could never have imagined that Devo would be nominated for the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
From a sonic perspective there is no way to digitally create a two inch tape sound
anymore than you can recreate B3 on you high end keyboard. Close but no cigar...lol
