Hi,

I don't normally recommend many products. Band In A Box is an exceptional product that I think every music student should have. It matters little if you just started playing or have been playing all your life.

There are a lot of tools built into BB for learning. In exploring BB's demos I have run across many styles of music I have never tried to play. What ever your skill level I think picking a demo at random and trying to play along with it is a meaningful thing to do.

Solo each track in the mixer and that will give you an idea about how a certain style is put together.Too much stuff going on? Mute out everything but perhaps the drums, bass, and the piano.

There are very large amount of things that can be done with BB. Figuring out how to load and play a demo track is pretty simple even the first time you turn BB on. No big learning curve to do that.

BB's main attraction may be the production of "your own" new music but it is equally a fantastic learning tool.

Cheers,

Billy

“Amazing! I’ll be working with Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Parker, Art Tatum, and Buddy Rich, and you’re telling me it’s not that great of a gig?
“Well…” Saint Peter, hesitated, “God’s got this girlfriend who thinks she can sing…”
