I enter a D7sus and what the guitar plays is a C chord - the notation shows G / C / E ??
Same if I enter a simple D7...
Why is it doing this?

More info needed.

Is it just this one chord, and others are OK?

Is there a transposition in effect?

Is the track MIDI or a RealTrack, and if a RealTrack, which one?

You should probably do a Return to Factory Settings if in doubt.

Good questions above.

What version of BiaB are you using?

What Style are you using?

Do you have Natural Arrangements feature on or off?

All of this will assist us in assisting you.

BIAB 2017/471

RT - 549 Guitar Elec Rhythm Jazz Waltz SW

Natural Arr. OFF

Other chords are fine

No transposition

Tried Midi guitar - same result...

Is there any way to copy/paste the notation?

A Dsus chord can be thought of as C/D which explains the voicing you're getting.

However, it doesn't explain why it's doing it when you put in a D7...

If you want a Dsus4 or Dsus9 chord, try typing those in explicitly and see what happens...

There's a tips and trick post here that will hopefully assist
You need to create the image first ( <Alt><PrintScreen> and save it somewhere (Paint?), or use Windows Snipping tool etc)

The above tip was presuming that you wanted to create a post to show what you were seeing.
Perhaps you meant copy/paste within the program, totally separately related to the subject of your post. Could you clarify please?

Yes, I wanted to paste the chord notation from BIAB showing the guitar playing a D7sus as G/C/E without a D.
I have the notation saved as a jpg, but cannot get it to paste in this window.
And "If you want a Dsus4 or Dsus9 chord, try typing those in explicitly and see what happens..." did not change anything....

As mentioned earlier, you don't try to paste, you include the jpg as an attachment.
Noel and I both sent links to the 'How To'

However, here's some screen captures of one I prepared earlier...

Can you tell us more about the jpg file? What size is it?. What is its full name? etc

Does it add a link to your post instead of an embedded image?

The steps I use are:
1: Click File manager link
2: Press Browse
3: In the File Upload form, Navigate to the file, select it and press Open
4: Press Add File
5: After waiting for it to upload, press Done adding files button

We are only end users, like you. We don't manage the forum, we only participate.

jpg size is only 23KB
What is it I'm supposed to see after clicking 'done adding files' ?
I do not get 'Browse' - I get 'choose file' ??
There is nothing that says 'attachment' ??
This was originally a very simple question ..

After that, you need to click on "Submit" to save your post (this is the normal post process).

Also, does your jpg have the .jpg extension? The File Manager won't work unless the image has a suitable extension. The File Manager also does not paste links. It actually uploads the image as a hardcopy from one's computer.

Regards,
Noel

Noel, we're really trying to all help the O/P, but it was stated:

"I do not get 'Browse' - I get 'choose file' ??"

I don't understand. No Browse, when the File Manager link is selected? That's what I'm trying to sort out. This is unusual, certainly.

Also, the O/P states:
Quote:

What is it I'm supposed to see after clicking 'done adding files' ?
I do not get 'Browse' - I get 'choose file' ??

Those two statements seem to be in the wrong order.
"Done adding files" would not be selected before pressing the "Browse" button, surely?

here is the notation for the D7 sus - G / C / E - get the same when I enter a D7 - seems to change depending on the guitar RT I use - makes no sense whatsoever...

dmrotes, don't panic ! Your issue is quite simple :
In fact, in the D7sus chord, you get the 9th above the 7th, and you think you get a C chord but instead you get a D9sus chord.

You have to know, in BIAB, it is very frequent you get extra notes even if you don't request them !
I have posted some months, months... ago in order to really get what we want :
I explain : for example, you enter a EMaj7 chord in the sheet chord, and BIAB will generate a EMaj9. That is unbearable. It depends on RT's, on styles, on genres, and maybe on other parameters.
If we want a EMaj9, we should have to type in Emaj9.

This way to enhance the chords has to be under control of the user and not under 'control' of BIAB.

Try right clicking on the "Master" radio button at the top of the interface, and check the box "Set to simple arrangement" to see if that gives you better results.
