Well, the title pretty much sums it up. I just ran into this a few minutes ago, and thought some of you might know if I've overlooked anything. But I've switched out RealTracks in the past without issues, so I don't really know what's happening with these tracks right now.
I'm running BiaB 64-bit, build 619, on a Win7 platform.
Specifics: I wanted to switch from BossaBrushes#1 to BossaBrazilAlex. I clicked on BossaBrazilAlex and indicated the variation I wanted, demo'd it, then clicked on OK. The name of the RealDrum track changed to BossaBrazilALex, but it continued to play the BossaBrushes#1 track. I called it up again, indicated BossaBrazilAlex again, just to be sure and all, clicked on OK, but still same thing. So I selected another track -- this time BossaTerryClark -- same thing happened. The name changed to BossaTerryClark in the mixer panel but it continues to play BossaBrushes#1.
I have not tried a RealTrack yet to see if it gets similarly stuck.
How do I unstick this and get it to play what I want?
I've had no problem changing RealTracks or RealDrums in the past, but that was with an earlier version of BiaB.

Weird is i had something similar with realdrums recently, but it was not important so i did not bother & left it. Is this happening with RealBand too? If not, erase/resetting the Biab track to default is what i would try first. Maybe the error comes from the style chosen, if you switch it at that bar (too).

This has happened to me a couple of times. I "fixed" it by muting the original Drums track and loading the RealDrums I wanted on the Melody track, which I wasn't using. Another time I copied the arrangement and started over. These are of course not real solutions, just workarounds. In a very small number of my BiaB projects, much smaller than 1%, the file itself gets corrupted and will no longer work correctly. Return to Factory Settings can't help a corrupted file. Sorry for your pain, have been there a few times. Good luck!

When you suspect a song file is corrupted open RealBand. Open the suspect file in RealBand and then save the file under a new name.
For example I suspect Corrupt.SGU is bad so I save the file in Band-in-a-Box. I start RealBand and open the file Corrupt.SGU and then save a new file as Corrupt01.SGU. Open Corrupt01.SGU in Band-in-a-Box. Does Corrupt01.SGU have the same issues as Corrupt.SGU?
RealBand does not use all the features Band-in-a-Box supports so RealBand loads the SGU file differently than Band-in-a-Box. Sometimes that difference is an advantage that can be used to save a corrupt file.
User Noel96 shared this idea with me some time ago. I've tried it many times since. Most times it works, rarely it doesn't but it's well worth trying.
Another tip: save, save save! The more often you save the less you crash. I use the "save as" command more than the "save" command. Like the example above I increment numbers to the song file name with each "save as". When something bad does happen I've only lost work performed after the last "save as".

Thanks for the replies, guys. Jim, I like your idea. I seldom use RealBand. I find it cumbersome to use compared to Sonar/CbB, so I seldom use it. But I'll certainly give it a shot in this case.
I do as you do and save a project multiple times with incremental names. I may have as many as a dozen incremental files associated with one project. Doing so has saved my bacon more than once, because sometimes something will get corrupted along the way and there's no way of undoing the problem, in which case an early increment is the only solution.
I just consider this to be good technique and I recommend everyone do the same. BiaB file sizes are small, unless you're recording audio associated with one. But I never do this so mine are usually quite small. Thus there's no good reason not to save often and to save incrementally.
Okay, I have two browsers open at the moment, so I'm gonna shut them down and boot RealBand, then do as you suggest Jim. I'll report back once I've had a chance to try and switch RealDrums again in BiaB.

The experience I've had in the past is that, let's say I open a demo song and later I try to change the real drums to a different one and the program ether crashes or there's no sound on the new RD drum, however if I drag and drop the new RD track to my DAW it shows the wave form. Kind of weird behavior which I have not been able to figure out.

OK, I did as Jim suggested. You know, sometimes you can't let this stuff get to you and you just gotta laugh. So I brought the song into RealBand, where two interesting things occurred. It set the RealDrums track up on Track 9 -- now I dunno if tracks are the same as channels in RB, but I wasn't taking any chances, so I managed to cut and paste the track data to track 10. Just to be on the safe side. I wasn't able to delete track 9, though. So anyway, track 2, which is where drums always shows up on BiaB was showing BB Drums, but it was empty so I didn't worry about it. The other interesting thing is it decided to switch patches. It switched the original style, which I don't recall offhand, to ZZBOSSA. No big deal. But it also switched the Melody track, which was Jazz Guitar to Vibes. Oh well. Actually, Vibes don't sound half bad for the melody. But I switched it back over to Jazz Guitar, and saved the file in BiaB format. It asked me about MIDI and Audio data when I saved it and I gave it some instruction with the audio that I don't recall specifically what I did, but it ended up saving the file in BiaB format and also it created a .WAV file of the song. Huh.
So anyway, I close down RB and boot BiaB, load the song and everything looks good. Click "Play" and BiaB crashes. Huh. So I reboot it, load the song back in, click "Play" and it crashes again.
And at this point, I just broke out laughing. There are times when you just can't let this stuff get to you. I've been having so many problems with this software that I've just decided that I'm not going to take it seriously anymore -- if it can't take itself seriously, then why should I?
I dunno what I'm gonna do about this little "problem" but I'll eventually figure something out. I always do. But I'm just not gonna let it get to me anymore.

OK, I remember what I did with the audio drop down when I saved the file to BiaB format. It was just saying "none" or words to that effect, so I clicked on the drop down and selected BB BossaBrushes#1, the original RealDrums selection.
I went back into RB just now and this time I just brought up the file and didn't do anything to it. I just saved it to BiaB format and once again in the Audio drop down, selected BB BOssaBrushes#1. Exited RB, Booted BiaB (64bit) and same thing happened. BiaB crashed. So I get the bright idea to try the 32 bit version, and guess what? It doesn't crash! Not only that, it does as Jim suggested it might -- when I changed RealDrums, it took -- and is playing right now -- the new RealDrums part. I wonder if, now that BiaB 32-bit is playing it, if 64-bit might play it now? I reckon I'll give it a try one of these days. So, I guess 64-bit still isn't quite ready for prime time just yet.
See? I told you I'd figure it out.

cooltouch,
In my opinion, at this time BiaB 64 is not as stable as BiaB 32 so my suggestion would be to use BiaB 32 whenever possible.
Open RealBand and press Ctrl + F5 to open the "Preferences" window then the number "3" to open the "File" window. There are a few options on that page that might affect how Band-in-a-Box responds to a file from RealBand.
The most important is on the bottom, "Default to SEQ when saving a file". When this is enabled you must remember to use save as so the file will remain a SGU file, or save a second time once you catch the error!
Another possibility is the third choice from the top, "Convert PPQ of loaded files to". Does the setting match the Band-in-a-Box setting at Ctrl + E, "MIDI File" button, "Resolution for MIDI file"?
While neither of these should make a difference I'm a believer in minimize the differences whenever possible.
