Can anyone suggest a cheap (or better still, free) program that will enable me to access another computer remotely?
I've been using a free version of Team Viewer, which is great, but unfortunately my free trial has run out, and I can't warrant spending $40.00+ per month to use the paid version.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I use Splashtop Streamer to control my PC from within the studio.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I've always used the free version of TeamViewer. As long as it's for personal use, they have no issue with you using it free. I like it a lot for transferring files from my laptop to my home PC and back when I'm not home. Been a big user of this for over 5 years. Works great on remote access too.
RealVNC has been around for a real long time but I still prefer TeamViewer. I also use TeamViewer from my phone to home PC too.

Many, including me, eventually have received a 'you need to start paying now' notice from them after a some use. Not sure when/how they make that arbitrary decision, but it has happened to me before.
I think that may be what happened to OP.

Thanks for all of your suggestions, I'll give them a try.
It's not really for personal use as such; I sometimes need to access my work computer from home on weekends & after hours. We run our own business, which is service related, and sometimes the need arises to fix things out of office hours. It's a 90 minute round trip for me to get to & from my office, so as you can understand, remote access is a great time saver for me.
I'll let you know how I get on; thanks again.

Many, including me, eventually have received a 'you need to start paying now' notice from them after a some use. That is strange. I only connect between 3 devices, my cell, my laptop and my PC. I usually don't spend more than a few minutes connected either by file transfer or remote connection and they have never bothered me. I even have a registered email account to manage the connections online.

Maybe it's because Keith and I have likely connected to or from work related computers or servers. It's funny, I know people with personal accounts that can create a TeamViewer session and I can connect and help them, even from work. But if I try to create the same session the other way with them it gets flagged. For work, we've created other means to be able to remote to needed machines from home. I don't open the route the other way though; nobody needs to get on my home network from outside, not even me. Work is work. If I need to work I'll connect to a work machine and work from there. That way nothing is on my home machine that may be needed for later retrieval. Home machine is for home. Work machines are for work. Allowing yourself to RDP to a work machine isn't that hard. You could create a VPN so you can be on the work network (LAN) when needed and RDP to those machines as necessary. Or go with software like AnyConnect that allows connecting to any machine that has the software. This is a paid solution, but works very well and allows initiating sessions via a web service for emergency new connections to machines you've never connected to before.. nice but not free, however if in the business may be worth considering https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/security/anyconnect-secure-mobility-client/index.html
