Not sure how you have used the free version for a length of time.
Many, including me, eventually have received a 'you need to start paying now' notice from them after a some use. That is strange. I only connect between 3 devices, my cell, my laptop and my PC. I usually don't spend more than a few minutes connected either by file transfer or remote connection and they have never bothered me. I even have a registered email account to manage the connections online.
