Herb, Good rocker! Nice use of the slide track. The way you processed it sounds like David Lindley. Great guitar by you. The twinned part spread across the soundstage is especially nice. Excellent mix and production, Tom I've always liked David Lindley ever since I heard him on Jackson Brown's album Running on Empty. The original part BB gave me was a distorted steel guitar but I let RB generate a slide which after comparing the two.... I liked the slide a bit better. Thanks for the compliment on the twins and the playing. Glad you liked this tune.

Great rockin song Herb that's full of energy! I like the effects chain on the lead vocal! Thanks, Torrey Thanks Torrey.... So the vocal FX chain.... it's simply the Sheppi Widener. I slipped it in there on the master which is where I normally use it if I'm going to use it.... but for some unknown reason, probably just to move it to check a dry master sound without losing the settings..... I dragged it to the vox buss and left it there.

Great tune... Always write as you would speak... The truth as you see it... Others can do the same That's one of the great things about our country & this forum. My thoughts have already been presented... But I don't know if listeners spotted the subtlety... The Statute of Liberty blocked by a green corroded fence... Smell the Fresh Air Thanks Jim. Many of the great songs of the 60's that many of us grew up with were political protest songs. No one seems to be writing them much any more.

I like this sort of stuff. I have not ever posted any of my protest songs here for fear of being shot, butchered , and Bar B Q ed...LOL
The music is cool also. It is not that I agree or disagree with the point of view. I just like the idea we should be able to protest anything we like with music and video.
This is the sort of stuff that I find very entertaining to listen to here on the forum. Plus, Guitarhacker is a good guitar player.
By the way, I'm with furry, I don't live in England but I am also a bit sick of the hearing about Brexit. Get in or get out, but just close the damn door...lol
Cheers,
Billy Someone once told me..... One thing about you, people are gonna know where you stand on something. Nope... never fear being ostracized. You have to be willing to put it out there and let the chips fall where they will. That's how you find out who your friends are. Glad you enjoyed the music.

Good song. Has a bit of Neil Young vibe which sits well with the protesting theme I would think. I was kind of thinking I wanted this to kind of sound like Neil Young's Rocking in the free world. Neil tended to write a lot of protest songs and songs that looked at the harder side of life. Glad you picked up on that feel, in it.

Not been on user showcase for a while, and what a first listen.
This is done nice and colourful, with a rhythm/style that keeps the listener listening.
A growly protest song and very well sung, with a fantastic soundtrack.
Enjoyed This one. Thanks for popping in for a listen

money gained in a dishonorable way, whew I had to look it up
nail on the head!
I feel like there's more than a few politicals on cartel payrolls.
You'd think people would like a doer instead of just a talker
A number of predecessors talked a big game about border security,
unfair trade agreements, Jerusalem, jobs, North Korea, minorities, etc., etc., etc.
and never made a move, didn't even pick up a phone and try.
Musicians, actors, and artists are usually by nature anti-establishment
and, or liberal.
I like a doer, I like what I see and not the gossip of perversion,
scrutinizing every step of a man now when it wasn't done before.
I'm a conservative Texan, a christian and probably now considered
to be a lot less cool on this board. Build the wall, slow down the inflow of drugs.
If Mexico was smart, they would've paid for (Up Front) and built the wall,
look at what they're having to deal with. I feel for hungry and desperate people,
there are ways to help them there or even to get here.
Sorry Herb, enough complaining from me,
It's an anthem! excellent twin guitars, very nice playing
a good mix.
Enjoyed!
Kenny
Thanks Kenny. Glad you enjoyed this. I like that song you have up too.

Yes, I also hear a little bit of Neil Young reminds me of Rockin in the Free World. Yes, I'll probably be a little less cool after agreeing with Build the Wall, I've donated several times. Good to put money where your mouth is. Mexico will pay for the wall, probably tolls to get across after the wall is up. Heck all the money we save will more than pay for the wall. Not to mention it's been promised for 30 years by most of the politicians who only made promises but never kept them as they were either too impotent or even worse a part of the corruption. Good song and thanks having the guts for posting. I can't tell you how many times I've had to sit and listen to a Bash the Current President song. And I am an artist and a musician, so we're not all lefties. Yep... I was thinking of NY and RITFW ... one of my favorites by Mr Young,,,,, and one of the few cover tunes I have recorded using BB. Thanks. We can all be uncool together.

Herb, even though rock is not my first choice in music I have to say I liked all of it. I mean all of it! Very valiant on your part considering how things are going nowadays.

Anyone ever found one's self in the midst of a cultural shift, a time and place of changing emphasis, attitudes... heck it can be triggered by something like a new big company coming to town, or anything like that. Naturally, we think, oh, yeah, the 50's the 60's the 70's or, what do you say, the here and now. I have. At the time, I recall a lot of activity among some who would capture the spririt of the thing with what we might call "the anthem." If we think about it, examples abound. Lee Greewood's "God Bless the USA." Good to be in the company of an anthem writer,

Cool tune Herb. Loved the guitar on this song. Up in Canada was are also having allot of troubles. People are just pouring into our country unchecked as well. The political climate has me very confused. Extreme left and extreme right with common sense no where is sight. Loved the song...

Herb,
Let me see if I get what you are saying here.
You are saying that no matter how big and high they build the forum wall, you will climb over it with your Telecaster and your pod, and do some old school gunslinging no matter what anyone says, and to heck with the Real Tracks, and the President says that's ok?
I had a hard time figuring out what you were trying to say this time, but maybe I got it right.
Well, there's only one Herb Hartley, that's for sure!!
